Which instruments make up a string quartet and trio?

String quartets consist of two violins, a viola and cello. Our string trio may consist of two violins and a cello or a violin, viola and cello. All our music is specially arranged for both combinations. If you have a preference for one combination or the other please state this on the enquiry form. We have used both instrument combinations in our recordings.

 

Are you able to play outside?

Yes, we are able to play outside generally between the months of May and September provided it is not raining, overly windy or unseasonably cold.

If the weather is sunny we will need a shaded area to protect our instruments which can be damaged by the heat. A well placed tree or gazebo is ideal.

We bring pegs to secure our music to our stands but on occasions, if the wind is very strong,it may not be possible to perform outside if our music is blown away!

Will a string quartet or trio be suitable for my event?

Both our string quartet and trio will add a touch of elegance to your event. We have performed at hundreds of weddings, parties and formal occasions across the country. We are able to move between locations with ease and since we are an acoustic group all we require at the venue are armless chairs for each performer. Our string trio is ideal for events with up to 90 guests. If your event is significantly larger than this we would recommend using our string quartet.

Can you perform music not on your repertoire list?

Yes. We are continually expanding our repertoire and would be happy to perform your special piece. Please note that there is a charge of £10 for sourcing music (purchasing music that is already in written form and readily available) and there is a charge of £50 for a bespoke arrangement where we arrange the music ourselves. We also require a minimum of six weeks notice. Due to the large number of requests that we receive there is a limit of two requests per booking.

We are using a videographer, will this be a problem?

No this will not interfere with our performance at your function. Please note that the booking is for a live performance therefore we would ask that you advise your videographer that they are not permitted to leave recording equipment by us and that they limit any direct video footage of the musicians to a few minutes.

How do I book Reflection Strings?

In order to book us we will need you to complete our booking form (this will be emailed to you) and we also require a deposit of £100 to secure the booking.
