The Musicians

Reflection Strings is a professional female string quartet that specializes in performing at weddings, corporate functions and private parties. The experienced musicians who form Reflection Strings are prize winning graduates from prestigious conservatoires including the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Sarah - Violin & Viola
 

Founder of Reflection Strings, Sarah studied music at Exeter University leading the University Symphony Orchestra for two years and performing solos in Truro and Exeter Cathedrals.  She completed her musical education studies at the Royal Academy of Music where she co-led the Academy Sinfonia Orchestra and won the coveted string quartet prize.

 

In addition to performing with Reflection, Sarah arranges much of the modern music that the group performs. Some of her arrangements may be purchased on our sister site marmpy.com and are performed by many string groups around the world.

 

Rebecca - Violin
 

Having finished her musical studies at the Royal Academy of Music where Rebecca came second in several prestigious prizes, she achieved the position of acting co-leader of the BBC Concert Orchestra and is a regular performer on such programmes as Radio 2's Friday Night is Music Night.

 

Rebecca was recently seen performing with the orchestra at the War Horse Prom. She also freelances with various London orchestras and groups including The London Symphony Orchestra, The London Chamber Orchestra and of course Reflection.

Victoria - Violin
 

Victoria studied music at Oxford University where she was part of the Aldate String Quartet. Victoria completed her masters degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, winning the Nosseck Prize for chamber music.

Since leaving the RNCM, Victoria has enjoyed a busy freelance orchestral career working with, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia, RTE Ireland, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Birmingham Opera Company. She has also worked with Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson and Take That (on X-Factor and BBC Children In Need).

Helen - Viola
 

Helen's musical training was concluded at the Royal College of Music where she won several prizes and scholarships, During this time she also achieved second place in the Essex Young Musician of the Year competition.

 

Helen regularly performs with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, English National Ballet and the English Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed on the soundtrack for the film Big Fish and has recorded with Vanessa Mae.

Celine - Cello
 

Celine began her musical studies on piano and later cello at the Royal Academy of Music and then at Trinity College, Dublin. She later received an Arts Council of Ireland Award towards Postgraduate studies in London and moved to London to continue her studies with Professor Eileen Croxford of the  Royal College of Music, London.
Celine is a freelance orchestral musician, music teacher and keen chamber musician. She has worked with Longborough and Birmingham opera companies and performs regularly as part  of Belmont Ensemble of London. Celine has also worked on Carousel and The Last Five Years in London's west end and with various pop artists including Billy Ocean and Boy George.

Magda - Cello
 

Magda studied the cello at The I J Paderewski Academy of Music and finished her studies with a postgraduate course at the Royal Academy of Music where she achieved the highest merit in her final year performance exam.

 

Magda performs with many prestigious orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.  In addition she has played on the hit musical Les Miserables and has worked with a number of famous names including Kanye West and George Michael.
